FAQ - Apartments in Lexington Park MD

Do you allow pets?

Yes, we are very pet friendly, but we do restrict certain aggressive breeds. We do not allow Pitbulls (American Staffordshire, Bull Terriers), American Bulldogs, Dobermans, Akitas, Rottweilers, Chows, German Shepards, Husky’s, Malamutes, Mastiffs. Full-blooded or mixed at any percentage will not be permitted.

How many pets may I have?

The maximum number of pets allowed is 2.

Are there any deposits, special fees or monthly charges to have a pet?

Yes, we have a fee of $550.00 for one pet and an additional $250.00 for the second pet. No monthly pet rent is charged. These fees are non-refundable.

Is my security deposit totally refundable?

Yes, plus 3% simple interest per annual, minus any damages or account balance at the end of the lease term.

If I get a job transfer, can I break the lease?

Yes, we offer two options:

Option 1) Give a 60 day notice to vacate. Pay rent through the end of your current lease. It is our duty to try to re-lease your apartment. If a new resident takes possession of your apartment prior to the end of your lease term, the difference in rent will be refunded to you, minus any concession you received during the lease term. You will receive a statement of charges and this refund within 45 business days.

Option 2) Give a 60 day notice to vacate. You may elect to terminate or cancel your lease early and pay a fee equal to 30 days rent plus re-payment of any concessions that you received during your residency at Abberly Crest. This fee must be paid 30 days prior to termination date.

What utilities are included in my lease?

Trash removal is the only utility included in your rent.

How long is the term of the lease?

We offer lease terms from 3 months to 15 months.

Do you accept leases for short terms?

We do allow leases as short as 3 months or on a month to month basis after you fulfill your original lease term.

If something needs to be repaired in my apartment, how do I report it?

You have three options on how to report a service request. You can either call a service request in to the office, stop by the office or e-mail it in through our website www.abberlycrestliving.com.

When is rent payment due?

Rent is due on the first of every month. You have until the close of business on the fifth to avoid late fees. After the fifth of the month, all monies must be paid in the form of Cashiers Check or money orders.

What is the day of the month that I am liable for a late charge?

You do not accrue late fees until the close of business on the 5th of the month.

Will you accept electronic payments from my bank?

We do accept electronic payments however they must be in our office by the 5th of the month to avoid late fees.

Is there a place where I can pay my rent after hours?

There is a drop box on the right of the front door at the clubhouse.

There is a person who might be staying with me for awhile. Is that permitted by the lease?

If they are going to be staying more than 15 days consecutive, we will need to process a normal application on that person.

Do you have reserved parking?

There is no reserved parking, but we do offer detached garages for lease.

I have a motorcycle, where can I park it?

All vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas. If you require locked parking spaces, we do offer detached garages for lease. Motorcycles are not allowed in apartments, storage units or breezeways.

Can I install my satellite dish at my apartment?

You can install a satellite dish within your patio. It may not be adhered to our structure in any fashion and has to be contained within the patio area to meet our guidelines. Proof of Renters Insurance is required equal to $100,000.

Will you accept my delivery packages for me?

We will be happy to accept your packages if you are not home. Please keep in mind we are not held responsible for any damages or lost packages.

Where do I register to vote?

You can register to vote at Maryland MVA, located 15 minutes from Abberly Crest.
